ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Is it possible to add two affiliations for an author?
The system is not configured for this. Nevertheless you have the possibility to indicate two affiliations by entering the first one in the department field and the second one in the institution field. Please note that in the final lay-out these two will be separated by a comma.
E.g.: Gastroenterology, University of Berlin and , University of Manchester .
backHow can I enter a study group?
The system is not configured for adding study groups at the moment. It is therefore suggested to add a sentence “On behalf of the XYZ study group” at the end of the abstract.
back
How can I add authors to the abstract?
After having entered the lead-author details please indicate the total number of authors in the box (including the lead author) then click on add co-authors and a pop up opens. Now you can enter the co-author details. Please don't forget to click on "add author" after each author. Once the indicated number of authors is reached you can't add more authors.
back
How can I change the presenting author of an abstract?
Whilst submitting the abstract you have the following options:
If the presenting author is the submitting author you need to indicate it by ticking the box after the Family name. If the presenting author is one of the co-authors you can indicate this after having entered the details of the co-author in the co-authors menu and by ticking the box after the country.
After having submitted the abstract, please log-in by using the returning user feature and indicate the presenting author in the same way ( tick or un-tick the appropriate boxes)
back
How can I change the lay-out of the abstract title?
The abstract title is automatically formatted (eg: conversion of all letters to upper case, first later upper case the rest lower case,etc..)The format has been chosen by the scientific committee in order to keep a uniform lay-out. Therefore it is not possible to change the lay-out of the title.

Was my abstract submission successful?
If you have been assigned an abstract number at the end of your abstract submission the submission was successful.
In addition you should have received a confirmation email, indicating the abstract number and a copy of your abstract. Nevertheless, it is possible that this email doesn't reach you due to your spam filter.
If you didn't get an abstract number from the system at the end of the submission, please submit your abstract again as it has NOT been submitted.
back
Can I still submit an abstract after the submission deadline?

EMAIL Problem
My email address is not valid, how can I submit the abstract?
Our system automatically tries to valid your email address by getting connected to your email server.
If, however, firewalls and other protections doesn't allow this your email address is declared not valid even if this is a valid address.
I therefore please you to whether use another email address e.g.: your personal email address or to contact me so that I can give you an email address you can use.
If you choose to use the email address provided I please you to send me an email with your submission number so that I can change the email address to yours. Please also ensure that emails from MCI can reach you.

When I log in via the returning user and edit my abstract I only see a blank form. What happened to my abstract?
If you have received an abstract number your abstract is still in the system it is only not shown on your computer. This problem occurs due to the settings of your browser. Please try the following measures:
The System doesn't recognize my email address and password.
The returning user feature is only available for people that have already submitted an abstract for this year's congress and have been assigned an abstract number.
Please use the option “For first abstract submission click here” in order to submit your first abstract.
If you have already submitted an abstract and received an abstract number please ensure that you use the email address and the password exactly as you entered it during the abstract submission. Please also ensure that the Caps Lock is off and that no blank spaces were added to the password/email address.
back
How can I access my abstract?
Please use the returning user function at the first page of the abstract submission form.
Once you have inserted your email address and password you entered during the abstract submission, you normally see a list of the abstract that you have submitted and two buttons "edit" and "new".
By clicking the "edit" button the abstract submission form with your previously submitted abstract appears on the screen.
By clicking the “new” button a new abstract submission form opens already pre-filled with your personal data from your first submission

WITHDRAWAL OF ABSTRACTS
How can I withdraw my Abstract?
Unfortunately, abstracts can NOT be deleted by the authors themselves once the abstract has been assigned an abstract number. Please send us an email indicating your abstract number and we will remove the abstract from our records.
back
I pressed on “Abandon” is my abstract deleted now?
Depending on the stage of your submission this can have different implications:
If you were editing/modifying your abstract as a returning user, only eventual modifications you did to the abstract were abandoned not the abstract itself.
If you were in the process of submitting an abstract without having been assigned an abstract number yet, your data is lost. If you still want to submit your abstract please start from the beginning and ensure that you don't quit the system before having been assigned an abstract number.
